im trying to install windows xp on a computer i put together for my dad. everytime i try to install windows xp pro on it, it locks up after it finishes loading the drivers at the beginning of the setup. I have switched out the ram and tried different stick but still does the same thing.
hard drive is wd 36gig rapter(new)
motherboard : EPOX | AMD KT600 EP-8KRAI RTL(new)
cpu: amd xp 2200(1 year old)
ram: some 256mb ram dont' know brand
when it asks for the third party drivers for raid etc, i install the sata drivers that came with the mobo and that all works fine, just stops after it finishes everything else. does anyone know what could be the problem?

Are there any other devices installed, that you might remove simply for the OS setup?
BIOS set to default, then double check boot order for the SATA.
Possibly try to download a newer SATA driver than came on the disk.
Reseat everything.
Ensure that the CPU HSF is running corretly.
