Well, after bolting the rearend back up (again) the other day.... I thought I would get some video/sound of my car exhaust. I know it isn't that great, but here it is anyway. http://www.redz28.com/aafz28.wmv
Incase anyone gets any ideas - it isn't burning oil! It is just the cold air and hot exhaust!
More videos to come in the spring - the car is taking a nap in the garage for winter
sounds like a Borla exhaust system,or Flowmaster combo units, the oil burn can be controling,i expect that car no have converter catalityc but the oil consumption is very dangerous a high revolutions, try using Valvoline Racing 50 SAE
Speed like a Ferrari Maranello, this is Cable Modem

The car is running on Mobil 1 Synthetic 10W30 right now...still not burning oil though, it is just the cool air. The car does have a cat on it still, but it may or may not make it through next year, depending on if I feel like cutting and welding a piece in. Right now the car has 1 3/4" Headers to a 2 1/2" Y-pipe to the cat then 3" pipe that goes to the muffler. The whole exhaust (except for the cat) is all SLP.
2003 WRX, 3" all the way to to Stromung resonator. No cats, they ran away Blows blue flames when I run the race gas map....110+ octane fuel is EXPENSIVE!
Lookin and sounding great Striker. When ya gonna have the 9" in there? I guess at that point the crinkle-wall slicks and VHT make an appearance too? Any guess as to yer 60' times when you can lay the power down and not worry about breaking stuff?

I gave Miss Manners a Dirty Sanchez, and she LIKED it.

My cat may run away, but I hear (on my car) it can get a little too raspy without one. Sounds pretty good If I ever disconnect everything I will get some video with open headers
I'm supposed to have three in-line. One pre-turbo, one right after the turbo, and one kinda behind the driver. Stock WRXs have ~227 hp, by just removing the cats people have been able to get close to 300 hp. Restrictive maybe? Fact of the matter is, running tweaked like I do, my emissions are not half bad. Better than most large SUVs at least.

Last time my car launched it went about 10 feet lol. It ate the spyder gears and carbon fiber clutch packs in my Eaton posi. It snapped the clutch packs in half Screwed up the splines on the driver axle too - although not as much as I would have liked. If I am destroying an axle I want toal carnage dammit! lol

Eww, I only have 1 (in my model year.) My step-dad's Cobra had 4!!!
My next car is gonna be a 96-99 Grand Prix GTP, with the SC 3.8 I believe. Thinkin of gettin rid of my '01 Altima, on which I am making monthly payments on, plus full coverage insurance, and get me that GTP.

In my car if I have my street tires and I punch it from 15 MPH all I do is spin with the 4.10s. If I am running my drag radials they will bite pretty well, although I usually break them loose a bit on the shifts. Last time I broke I only had it revved to 2500 rpm or so before I popped the clutch, all other passes that day were done slipping the clutch... if I drag race next year I will just slip until I have enough for a Ford 9" I may autocross just for the hell of it instead to see how fun that is.
AAFStriker, I noticed that exhaust only came out of one side. You have a Z28, right, with the dual outlets? I could only see a pipe on one side, what's up? It appears to me to be a V6 Berlinetta exhaust, you know, with the two small pipes exiting on the same side next to each other, but I know that can't be the case.
The GHOST is still inop but I'm going to be putting money away for his fix, some new tires, etc., maybe nitrous for emergencies, lol.

It was on the car when I got it. It is the SLP two on the left (2OTL) exhaust. On the SLP website it is running $499 for the catback. It is "SS like"... but if people want to think it is a V6 - Great Has an SS hood but still has the Z28 badges - always will.
My money is going into a Ford 9" - no more drivetrain worries - except the trans after that lol. Then heads and cam - I want it to eventually run 12.0 and be streetable. No excessive weight reduction like gutting the car, etc - just some possible weight reduction with lighter stronger suspension parts etc...
I have mixed feelings about the GTO. IMO they needed a little more radical styling (although this is somewhat addressed on the 2005 model) I like everything with exception to the monster tach. I try for the clean inside look, but its just personal preference. BTW, is that the logging/replay one? Looks like a nice car
Tach was added for a few reasons! Biggest one was for the shift light, and a tach that was in a position for me to see it better. The GTO revs fairly fast and if it wasnt for the rev limiter I would already have a blown LS1 ... Second because it simply adds that muscle car touch! . Some hate-em Some love-em, im a lover!
A little update...I decided on a little winter project. The SLP Headers that I have are going bye-bye! I am most likely picking up a set of Hooker Longtubes that are Jet-Hot coated and a 3" Y-Pipe and welding in a cutout
Still waiting for the pictures when he yanks them out of the car to make my final decision - but I am 90% sure without even seeing them. He takes good care of stuff!
Get a 6 speed And a new rearend that isn't made of glass. I have a fund for a 12 bolt or Ford 9" going right now. No popping the clutch next year if I dragrace. Might just do some autocross or just enjoy the car without racing next year. Manual transmissions are hell on the weak 10 bolt from the amount of shock they can deliver. The automatics are pretty forgiving on them though... 1995 was the first year of the vented optispark ("distributor" for these cars) Which is good since the vented ones are less likely to fail. Some genius put the optispark under the water pump
Not sure how much you plan on modding, but the LT1 Aftermarket isn't exactly cheap (like the Mustang 5.0 aftermarket) It can get a little pricey...
What are your plans for the car? Strictly strip, street/strip or autocross? These cars can be pretty good for drag racing as well as autocrossing.

LOL, unless you have MY automatic transmission! I'm on my 4th rear end now! CHA CHING $$$$ Thankfully the rear end girdle I had installed is extending the life of the gears. But Striker is right, get a 12-bolt if you plan on serious mods and be done with it.
