Ok Processor Upgraded...any other ideas before..

Post by Sava700 »

Dell 8200 processor upgraded successful from 2.0 to 2.8...this should take care of it becomming the "Bottleneck" for the Geforce 6800 Ultra I'm wanting to get...only thing I think I'm going to need to do next is upgrade the Powersupply which is a 250 Watt.. I've seen this model Dell come out with a 9800pro with this PS...but I think the GF6800 ultra is going to need more and requires a min of 480... I found this one and Its made to fit this model dell Turbo Cool 425 ATX Deluxe and I figure a 425 might be good enough. Anyone object with this think working well?

Should work, but your cpu will still be a bottleneck, no matter what cpu you get.

I always thought that it was the AGP bus speed that was the bottleneck? P4 3.0c=800/4 200mhzfsb? And I dont recall the AGP bus running anywhere near that speed.

it's enough for you.
