Is this a legit show? Or is it one of those pseudo-reality shows that seem to be cropping up everywhere?

it is suppose to be a real documentary, following two ghosthunters from a group called TAPS, http://www.the-atlantic-paranormal-society.com/ ,
which is located in Central New York Upstate.

I am hoping it shows paranormal researchers doing what they do best using science to document the paranormal, and not just tell a ghost story, or have some kids running around screaming.

I agree...

reminds me of that HBO show family bonds think it called

overall they are showing what we do and what equipment and why we do it. So far very professional..it started out slow..really did not care about the bowling and plumbing..but i guess they showing their other lives..lol

Also like how they analyze the evidence and try to rule everything out. They got some really nice EVP's there, one saying "they dont want us"

I am sorta suprised they did not just get a hotel room or something just because how far of a drive it was.

It does take a lot of time to go through all the video and audio and pictures. We usually go back home analyze our own data then email it and post on our own private website and discuss each piece to decide if it is valid or not. Sci-fi did not really show how long they were there and how many hours of video/audio they got. I am guessing they cut a lot of the boring parts of nothing happening which tends to happen a lot on an investigation, sort of like a stake out.

also, that show seemed kinda scripted. for example..the part where the case guy tells the two lead fellows that he has set up 3 more appointments in the same town. hmm...

yeah some of it might very well be.

They did not mention it..but I know we wont go 8 hours for an invest, it would have to be something really special, and the client would have to remiburse us for gas and or hotel or something like that. Since none of us gets paid to do what we do, and it is just a hobby.

Normally if we get a client come to us that far away we usually try to point them to a group in that area or one that is closest to it.
