Soldier of Fortune II - OpenGL compliant???

Post by Baine »

Hello,
I installed SoFII Double helix months ago, and since have formatted my HDD, and now on trying to play it again, the following error message comes up:
"To play Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, please verify that your card is OpenGL compliant. If it is, please update to the latest video drivers. See the readme.txt for more details"
I have done all of these, and it continues to produce the same error - have now reinstalled it 3 times, and all the time to the same end - that error message.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Install the latest version of your card's drivers.

or

Rollback your video driver. How old is your game? Some older games dont like latest drivers. Have you tried useing the same driver version that you had when the game was working?

Did you update/install windows service pack 2? windows service pack 2 has a long list of incompatibilites

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous

Burke: Cheers, but I've tried that, to no avail.

Randy: I made the mistake of installing service pack 2 before and it really messed something on my system up - still trying to figure out what happened. But I'll try and roll the driver back - stupidly I didn't think of that rather logical solution - thanks a lot. :thumb:

I've sorted it out now - it was a matter of rolling back the driver, and for some reason reducing the memory speed the graphics card was using  .

Thanks again
