Whohoo!! Microsoft made a new version of WMV. Well as I was looking around on the site for WMP10. I came across something along the lines of High def WMV HD files. So I download one is it just runs like I was trying to play a video on a 486.. Yesh!
Here are the requirements.... Pretty darn high in my perspective Im just running at 1.53Ghz...
Minimum Configuration
(to play 720p video)
Windows XP
Windows Media Player 9 Series
2.4 GHz processor or equivalent
384 MB of RAM
64 MB video card
1024 x 768 screen resolution
16-bit sound card
Speakers
Optimum Configuration
(to play 1080p video with 5.1 surround sound)
Windows XP
Windows Media Player 10
DirectX 9.0
3.0 GHz processor or equivalent
512 MB of RAM
128 MB video card
1920 x 1440 screen resolution
24-bit 96 kHz multichannel sound card
5.1 surround sound speaker system
Well they quality is probably like as if you had HDTV which is pretty darn good. Supposedlyy WMV Hi-Def is 6 times better then dvd quality. I just downloaded a movie from Microsoft's site it was 90mb for one minute. heres a link to what I'm talking about because I'm not being very descriptive... http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... Video.aspx
for those who already have WMP10 go here to download a short video.. and see if you system can play them.. I know mine cant already lol... http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... wcase.aspx

On a side note, I find it very odd that they'd showcase trailers like Taxi 3 and True Crime, but not one for their own Halo 2 teaser.
