Looking For SPEED!

Ok, Ok, When I had cable modem there was a site i went to, to test my speed, Is there such a place to go for dsl speeds? I've only had dsl about 2 weeks and not sure what speeds Im getting, but I know it is not as fast at cable was.

also use MSN's Speedtest to get a good median feel for your true throughput. its best to have as many different sites as possible when trying to determine true bandwidth.

Dsl reports
west coast 173(down/120(up) kbps
east coast 188(down)/57(up) kbps

MSN
297.8 Kbps
36.5 K bytes/sec

anyone know what I can do to speed this up, "tweeks and ect"??

sguide_tweak_98_ME??

Charlie...Oh thanks that was a very helpful page, well I know that its not the ppp but on-my I had no idea there where 4 variations of dsl and have no clue what I have, im going to call them tomorrow and find out also going to ask what speed I should be getting.(wonder how long they will put me on hold this time..LOL) Also going to try the tweeking thing then. Morning All!

Allrighty...installed the tweek and really changed my download speed but not too much in upload,
MSN..735.1 kbps 90.1 k bytes

Dsl Reports..693(down)/121(up) kbps

what a change from 188(down) without the tweek.

its because of our size ms_pammy , you get faster responses because more are reading...and to think.. they say "Size doesnt matter"
