COX HSI Bandwidth Increase

Cox Internet here in Hampton Roads has upped our caps from 3000/256 to 4000/512 at no extra charge. So be on the lookout for increased bandwidth Cox users.

I see, here I thought mozilla was magical. I just checked speed with IE and got a 3698/502. I'm in Phoenix so it's changed here also.

I already got upgraded to 4000/512 in Topeka, Kansas, and I'm getting anywhere from 3.9-4.8Mbps down and 504-506Kbps up after downloading TCPOptimizer and using 256960 as my TcpReceieveWindow and rebooting the computer. I did tried 64240 and it still won't work for me. The tweaking forum at DSLR says not to use speed patches, it could muck up the registry and add useless crap but I'm using Tcp Optimizer which works for me. I'm using whatever I want to tweak with, 64240 didn't work for me but 256960 works better. I was on 3000/256 and I always got 2900-3200Kbps down and 245-249Kbps up. Now I'm getting this and faster:

Am I happy? Yes! Webpages does load faster, at least to me it does have been on 3000/256 for going on four years. Speeds are getting faster, better, and consistent. By the time I enter a URL or click on a link, the site is already done and loaded on my computer monitor because of the higher caps. What more can I ask for? Nothing! Premier service now cost $54.95 for 5000/768 but I'm not paying $15 per month more for a 1Mbps down and another 256Kbps up increase of speeds when I don't download a lot, game or work from home. I'm going to check the DSLReports' Cox HSI forum about monthly byte caps and see if they're gone or have been raised. I do game but 4000/512 serves me just fine for the games I do play. Now when SBC shows their commerical about downloading pictures more faster, I could only scoff or laugh my butt off. How can you download pictures faster on a 1.5Mbps ADSL line? I can download pictures faster on 4Mbps Cox HSI service.

Got the upgrade here in RI yesterday. Speeds are very consistant and averaged at 3998/504 with NetStat Live

What cablenut setting should I now use for the increased bandwidth. Currently using yours for the 3000/256, and now running speed test around 3800/490.

I used to get 3000 d/l, maybe a little more. Now with the speed increases, I get only around 2000 d/l, although I do get the 512 u/l. I switched my Default receive window to 256960 with TCP Optimizer and switched to it's recommened optimal settings but no change.

Any advice??

Plese start a new thread with windows version and tcp analyzer resaluts i know your new but what you did is considered rude
