some info on oc'ing

can anyone gimme some info on overclocking? i have a p3 667. so if ya can, link me to a site that explains what i need to do, what i need to purchase (fans.. etc) thanks

best bet? sell your 667 and getta 700e or 800e. I think this has been addressed already, but your 667 has a fsb of 133. that means your multiplier is only like 5. the multipliers on intels are locked meaning that you can only oc by increasing the fsb. assuming you get the best of the best memory, cas 222@160fsb from http://ocz.safeshopper.com that puts you @ a max 800Mhz for cpu clock speed and thats at 160 fsb which SERIOUSLY stresses your machine and is VERY hard to attain let alone maintain. thats the short version, I can send you links if you want as to why thats a tough oc position to be in.

can you just email me links so i can at least read up on this a little bit before i buy anything? because i think instead of overclock i might just trade this system in for a totally new one, but i want to explore the options that i do have.
