AMD Mobo

Post by BaLa »

I'm not 100% sure yet...
but pretty close..the Mobo is the reason my new GFX Card wont work, in this comp.

so what IS currently the best AMD Mobo.

I currently have an XP1700+ (yeah I know) but for now I will just upgrade my Mobo and RAM, then later on, I will drop the best Socket A Proc in it, which is currently the 3200+ (will prolly stay at that)

Currently in my Newegg Shopping Cart
Corsair Value Select Dual Channel Kit 184 Pin 1G(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200 - OEM $186
ASUS "A7N8X-E Deluxe" nForce2 Ultra 400 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket A CPU -RETAIL $99

might be a few weeks before I actually purchase.....

my other option is getting a P4, Mobo, and RAM..
I'd like to keep suggestions to the AMD Socket A Mobo though...

right now I don't think I could go 'right' with either
I'd expect Intel to come out with the S775 soon...and if I stay with AMD, I want to keep my current proc for a little while (SocketA)
so I wont have to spend a big chunk of cash all at once...

how far do you want to overclock ? there are better overclocking AMD boards that will go as high as 270FSB from what i have read.

not really sure what is the latest and greatest overall mobo.
