Originally posted by LT-73 Thanx rick but I don't need the lan switch. Friend gave me a netgear 4 port hub. As for the keyboard and mouse, looks Like I don't have the room to place it anywheres, lol
I was thinking using the kvm switch between the nebulous and the neucleus, then use the pos keyboard and mouse i'm using on the neucleus now for the 3rd box.
Thanx for the offer tho
Look into VNC, works well as an alternative of a KVM switch, and it's free:

How do you get VNC to work across a LAN anyway? I have it on my main rig but I would greatly appreciate learning how to have it set up to run across my LAN. Especially if I could get it to work on my LAN as well as from an external connection at the same time. That would save me much time and effort.
Thanks,

Thanks for sending the switch to me. It was waiting for me at my door Saturday when I got home. I connected it to my router and everything is working fine. Now I have all of my computers connected and the two that I am waiting on parts for can be hooked up as soon as they are completed.
Thanks again for sending it and btw, you did a really nice job on the packaging.

I have a
Netgear EN104TP

the cables are yours anybody who wants them free....
I've got a SynOptics LattisHub 2803 10baseT 16 port hub & network cards that I'd be willing to trade parts for. I'm looking for PC133/PC100 memory, cdrom players, working hard drives (preferably 2 gig or better), & pci video cards...and/or processors (both amd & intel) above 600 Mhz...pm me if interested...

You could always come over to Comcast...I could get you hooked up

well, My fear with comcast is that I don't need cable TV. I have Direct TV which offers a lot more for less IMO. But the internet connection would be nice. What speeds and at what cost are they offering? I want the most for the least. Currently I have 1.5 x 256 through SBC (well, when it is working I do). But I only pay 40/mo. So, if you can get near that deal and tell me how to get outta this contract I am all about it. But, I do hate hang time when everyone else is on sharing the pipe and i don't get my expected speeds. I am an arse I know picky as they come but i want consistency.

I've got an Asus P2L97 slot 1 board (only supports up to 400 celey) and a celey 333 mhz that i will trade for a socket A processor and/or some ram ddr/sdr.
i just got into the folding now that i realize my server(s) are idle about 99% of the time. And my new notebook has taken another two systems into folding.
If anybody's got 2x66/100fsb slot chip faster than the chpis below, i can handily replace two systems:
PII 350, 256MB, 45GB storage (up to 800 MHz P3 i think)
Cel 333, 128MB, 8GB storage (max cel 500/P3 500)
I also have a near-complete 133MHz 40MB CD-ROM system just needing a HDD and currently using a parallel cable network connection (my router is out of ports and I'm out of network cards; could use a hub/switch and NICs).
I have 32MB 66MHz SDRAM (for those with non working modern memory) and an ATX PSU if anybody needs them for a system or if anyone has a spare board/cpu/hdd combo to send this way.
if anybody needs help with VNC, pm me; i've got my whole network running on vnc and functioning great from anywhere with internet connections.
I have 5 USB connectors available as well as several pci cards all with cables.
Rick
Edit
Also just found a couple of Celeron cpu's. I don't know what speed they are, they were in a Intel box that says 700MHz on the box, but actually I just don't know, don't even know if they are any good. They are the square kind not slot 1's.

I've got a Linksys 4 port BEFSR41 that I'd be willing to trade for either a good hard drive (5 gig or better), or a mobo that will support an AMD XP 1800..

I believe that I have a 1 and a 2 GB HD lying about.

P2-266Mhz slot 1- bare wires
K6 2-333 or 350Mhz with hsf
350w Raidmax Psu- Will have this available once the replacement gets here
Several small heatsinks. Great for hacking up if you wanna mod the mosfets.
Black floppy drive
i have a stick of 64mb pc 100 ram for someone with an older setup, and a seimens 4 port switch with printer port, and some ethernet cable cat 6 or 5e/both.

I need to upgrade my K6-II rig. Just WAY too slow to fold @400MHz.
Does anyone have a processor or mobo (ATX) of ANY kind greater than the above?
I also have a SCSI JAZ drive still available, w/ Buslogic PCI SCSI card (onboard BIOS). Might have a couple of the disks if I can dig them up, used of course.
Perhaps he is looking for something a little larger.

david

I just thought I would point out a possible match that you two may have missed.
I did not miss it. Since he had not contacted me, I assumed he was not interested. At this point the 2GB is gone.

Looking for ATX connectors from power supplies that have gone bad.
If you would like to send them to me I would greatly appreciate it. Please cut the wires to the connector as close to the power supply as possible.
I am using them and a ATX 10" extension to run 2 mother boards from 1 power supply by making a y out of them. Hoping to cut down on the heat generated as well as cutting power useage.
Tks

somebody got an optical drive? the cd-rom in mine is good for garbage, making my os reinstalls painfully long.
also looking for a slot-1 chip faster than 350MHz. at this speed i can't fold fast enough to make it count, and it's also on 24/7 most of the time now.
I have 4 SCSI (older) drives that I will be willing to contribute to a folder. I also have a controller card or two I believe. Perhaps some HS and even a couple of 386 complete rigs. I also have a buttload of SIMMs........

lance, do you still have those scsi drives? how large and what scsi version are they? i've got a sidelined system with a scsi card but no scsi drives to boot up with. it also has just 32MB 72-pin memory...was gonna try and run 2000 pro on it and use it as a 3rd system too. msg me if you can if you got drives and memory.
thanks,
jeremy
Hi,I have 4 boxes running 24/7 now,and two of them are PII 233's and I have 96mb ram in one and 64mb ram in the other and I'm running WIN2k pro on them,I don't do anything else on these 2 at all, they run ok ,but a little slow,
so,I need some pc66 or pc100 memory,I would like to have atleast 128mb in each.
does anybody have some? and if so,what do you need? trade?
