Indy, to you ever find bees?

I have to open pole boxes from time to time and I'm strapped in with a linemans belt. So far, the only ones I've found Yellow Jackets in, it was cold out. Man..talk about crap your pants when the wind is blowing...open it up and Yellow Jackets flying all over the place!

I once found a polebox full of corn....and mice. Oh man I hate them stinky things...

DH, I've taken nose cones off of some uplinks and gotten chased off the roof by some nasty hornets. Spiders will do that to me too. :D

not good. I was always told if you touch a baby bird that its mother will leave them. Don't know how true that is.

Yellowjackets are MEAN SOBs. Will chase ya, wait for ya. Evil little buggers. I've disturbed em enough times while surveying to know the sound a swarm makes and RUN LIKE HELL. I did get trapped in a nasty briar thicket once after I had incurred the wrath of a yellowjacket nest(underground). I eventually ended up running roughshod thru the briars, as the briars hurt much less than the bees. Got popped about 15 times. I was not a happy camper at that point. Oozing blood from the briars, and nursing multiple stings...certainly a day that went into the "sure sucked" column.

Oh man do I have stories....lol I hate them also...

About 4 years ago, I stuck my head into a nest in the back yard while I was trimming. Them buggers got me on both ears , my lip, and my nose before I got them off....

My arms and backs of my hands got it also. My face went numb and later that night I had terrible stomach cramps for two days...

Man they'll attack for just looking wrong at them. And the bastards like "meat"....Oh man I hate em. lol

Indy, I ask because I'm sure you know exacly what I'm getting at. I'm strapped in, 25 feet or higher, and there isn't anyway to unstrap and drop quickly enough to keep them buggers off of me. Our poleboxes should be sealed but they can find a way in, sometimes and you don't see them flying in and out.

Honey bees are another subject....I only get stung by them if they get pinched in my clothes or something. I leave em alone, they leave me alone.

So, you don't get paid enough to clean out the boxes you service... :p
