Amazing . . .

I finally got my computer working properly. If you remember, I just got this new kick ass system and whenever I played any game it would freeze within the first 10 seconds. I was on the phone with Gateway for two weeks. I took it into Gateway Country and they were getting annoyed by all my phone calls to check the status so they ordered me a new CPU, Motherboard, and RAM. The problem is fixed now, and games are amazing. Here's a list of Specs one more time.

Those speakers are amazing. The bass is unreal. I wouldn't trade them for any other speakers. The system did cost a little much but it was worth it . . .

EA and fubarman, did you hear what Klipsch is doing? They have a new pre-amp out (it'll cost us $50 for them) and will be releasing a new sub for the Pro Medias!! <G> Right as I buy my set, I hear this!

I love the detail that Gateway has gone into laying out that motherboard. Lots of good info on it.

I've never owned an MSI board, so I cannot directly tell you how they are. It looks to me like your regular run of the mill VIA KT133 chipset amd mobo.

Hehe, I can tell you about the MSI board

It's a very stable board, but it's performance is a little below Abit and Asus' boards. I think you can change the fsb while in windows..but I'm not 100% sure about it. Here's a review from Anandtech

I have the msi 6167. They are KNOWN for being very stable boards, but are not slanted towards overclockers as abit and asus boards are.

How do I run a looping demo??? Do I need to download one cause I only have 2 demo's that came with Q3. They each run for about 2 minutes a piece. It says that they have a frag limit of 100. If I need to dl one, I would appreciate a link. Thanks for the advice, I'll let ya know how it turns out

Beside with it being new. I would not try any overclocking metheds for a while. I have alwasy understood its better to wait at least a year.Due to the board needs breaking in time. Like what was said that board is very stable as is. It dose not like change much. Just my opinion! But sounds like a great system and would not mess with it. It should give you what you want as is.

to 'burn in' just run a looping Q3 demo at 1600x1200x32 with everything set to max for all night long, or all day long, that will burn it in

You can also run a looping demo of 3DMark2000 at 1600x1200x32 as well

that will burn it in and you can see how stable it is, if it don't lock up at all it's so rock stable it's not funny

If it locks up once that's understandable for a new system

If it locks up lots and lots and lots of times something's wrong
