X10 Wireless Surveillance Camera (anyone use one?)

Has anyone tried this camera?

Can I get some input as to picture quality, resolution, PC interface type(s), ease of use.

Actually, if you've tried one, any advice, or info would be appreciated.

have not tried it .... but I do have a great wired cam. Cost me a bit more but this thing has a great pic and res. It is fully motorized with about a 160 degree span. the verticle span is about 60 degrees. Not at all a bad investment for a VTC set up

Working in the CCTV industry now has exposed me to a LOT of different cameras. We have a system that is pretty cheap and you can buy parts as you go and build on it.

Here is some info on it: Mini IP Camera System

It is pretty inexpensive for a one camera system (~600GB). If you are interested in more info, let me know. It is the system I have used before at work and it is AWESOME. It records video on your computer, you can also view it from anywhere in world that has internet.

Tis cool. All of us at work are getting some for our homes.

I actually have an x10 wireless camera.

Works great, sounds good. And it broadcasts over a 900mhz frequency so if you had a receiver tuned in to the right frequency, then yeah someone could "Hack" it and watch what you are watching.

I use mine for exterior home surveilance and also I used it to upload video to the web so I could watch my dog from work when he was a puppy. Windows media is niiiiiiice.

what is the cost just for a one camera system? I followed the link but did not find a price anywhere.

Basically, for one camera (pan/tilt dome), one 4 camera controller, 20m of Cat5, a DVR USB hook up, software and manual, it costs $600 plus shipping. You can add more cameras (night vision, zoom and VERY high quality) as you want. They are all wired via Cat5 and need NO power supply (power through Cat5).

Looks like I need to do more research and find out what's available out there.

What I'm looking for is a complete system, like the X10 3 camera deal (or similar).
I want wireless, and battery powered so no wries at all, even for power. Also, tiny, and hidden would be nice too.
Quality picture is a must.
I don't care if it can be hacked. If someone wants to watch the view of my front/back door all day, go ahead lol

How long do the batteries last?
Anyone?

Actually, I'm looking into all the different setups.

I am planning on installing systems like these on the side.
Also doing some fiber optic lighting on the side, and automation controls for pools, sauna's and all thier respective electrical, and mechanical features as well.

Some people will want a cheap easy to use, good enough type cam surveilance system, others will want a more secure, quality, online access, don't care about price type system.
