kernal_data_inpage_error

Post by ZTP »

Anyone here have some experience with this error? I have a computer here at the place I work that everyday at 11:43am the computer gets a blue screen and then pops up this error and then within 30 seconds reboots.

I did all the normal checks including a virus scan and trojan scan and it comes back clean. Microsoft's site mentions 4-5 possibilities with one being updating drivers which I did, but the issue is still there.

If anyone has dealt with this problem and can offer some advice it would be appreciated. The PC is running Windows XP Professional.

The odd thing is happens ecery 24 hrs at same time. Leads one to believe that some app tries to execute at that time.
1. scheduled tasks
2. reminder programs.
3. error reporting service.

Is there anything you would recommend Tony to disable to test this out? At this point Id prefer to test software possibilities before going to hardware (i.e. hard drive, RAM).

2. reminder programs.
3. error reporting service.
4. auto updates.
5. power mgmt settings.

Remove all scheduled tasks.
Turn off ms auto update.
Turn off error reporting service.
Disable all unneeded services.
etc etc etc

disable anything that runs on a schedule.

Ok thanks for that. I am starting to think it was a drivers issue. I updated some drivers yesterday through Windows Update and the time came and went today without incident. If it occurs going forward I will try your suggestion.

Thanks again Tony.
