BF1492 of Medal of Honor?? opinions wanted
BF1492 of Medal of Honor?? opinions wanted
Well I'm trying to decide between the two. Witch is better single player, multiplayer and overall? I'm leaning towards bf1942 deluxe edition, if I end up with that is the secret weapons expantion worth getting?
Thanks
Thanks

Single player > MOHAA w/ExPacks of SpearHead & Breakthrough (although outdated, yet still fun if you've never played it before)
Multi-player > BF42 w/DesertCombat Mod installed (http://www.desertcombat.com)
Road to Rome & Secret Weapons are okay to have but really not all that worth it if bought seperately. If you can get BF42 w/RTR & SW all-in-one for under $40USD then, yeah okay go for it IMO.
Overall > Get BOTH, then you can't go wrong

Can't really compare the 2 games like that.
MOHAA, Spearhead, and the latest....Call of Duty...were fun single player games...although easy and rather quick to finish. You could blow through any of the 3 games in 2 or 3 sit down sessions.
Online play for them....eh, I give them a "so-so". Dated online play, after playing new games online such as bf'42, I find it hard to go back to the above games and enjoy them online, because you suddenly realize how dated and featureless their multiplayer aspect is. They're all games that feel "4 years old". Yeah Call of Duty brushed up the graphics a little bit..but still, you can quickly notice the limitations of that aging game engine.
Battlefield 1942...single player is virtually non-existant in the game, just play against bots so you can learn the game, learn the maps, moves, how to work stuff. The game is really all about multiplayer. Huge wide levels, and you have so many things to choose from. Drive any/all vehicles you see, fly any/all planes that you see, ships, AA guns, turrets, etc etc.
After playing a more contemporary game such as bf'42, you go play MOHAA, SH, or CoD, you quickly realize how much those games are lacking in features. See that jeep? Nope, you can't hop into it and drive around. That Stuka on the runway? Nope, can't hope in it and fly it. The levels...yeah, you might be able to see a lot, but you're very limited in your movements, where you can go..what I call "Corridor Levels"...limitations of that old Q3 engine. That row of buildings..you can't walk behind, that hill over there..you can walk up it.
Yeah Call of Duty tried to get some vehicle stuff in it...very limited and poorly done, mostly scripted action.
If you wish to get the most fun out of your game...we invite you to hang out here, and play on our game servers. http://www.speedguide.net/gameserver you'll notice we have a Battlefield 1942 server running Desert Combat mod, and we also have a Call of Duty server. The bf'42 server will be running Desert Combat mod for maybe another week...then once the 1.6 patch comes out for Battlefield, we will be running pure Battlefield 1942 (WWII era). Any other expansion packs, I do onw the Deluxe version, but I'll never run that. That would eliminate too many other peeps (who are regulars who just own the standard version) from being able to play. I also put up a Call of Duty server, but I'm not really into that game, but my old clan buddies are, so that's pretty much their show...I let one of them Admin that server.
About the end of March, or somewhere in April, we expect Battlefield Vietnam to be out. You'll see a link I posted about that yesterday. Our server will be running that game once it's out.
We hope to see you out there in the killing fields!

I have both, don't even play MOHAA anymore...BF all the way.
Same here and I have all the expansion packs for BF. SW is pretty good also. Some fun maps, with objective base modes of play instead of conquest mode. A different change of pace sometimes is good.
BF1942 Deluxe version all the way!!

Medal of Honor was replaced by Call of Duty as the best single player WWII game out. Neither of them can hold a candle to the awesome multiplayer madness in BF'42..
If you get Medal of Honor or even better, Call of Duty, you'll have the game beat in a few days and then you'll be back to where you started.
If you get BF and download and install the Desert Combat mod, you will be hooked for a long time to come. Best multiplayer game ever!

I like bf1942 but don't but it, wait for vietnam i mean yeah its fun playing with you guys but i stopped and i been playing call of duty
I love the multiplayer, even if people aren't flying planes around and tanks if you like WWII then this is it.
there are tons of mods and custom maps for it already http://www.codfiles.com I been making my own mods hard to do with bf1942.
i choose call of duty anyday

If you won't stand behind the troops then you can trying standing in front of them.
As far as single player FPS games go MOHAA and CoD are kick arse. Yeah you can beat them quickly, but they are historically accurate as far as weapons. I like the missions as well. I do however agree BF is far superior for multi play.
