What do I do with the extra Messenger?

Post by TruckerT »

I have been using MSN Messenger 6.1 for some time now and everything seemed to be going along fine. I did a windows update today and , not paying attention, installed the update for messenger 4.7 - which microsoft said I needed. Now I have two messengers on my computer and I would like to uninstall the 4.7 version. However it is not in the uninstall programs list.

To give you some information you might need, I am running XP Pro on this system with Microsoft Office XP Pro, including FrontPage - et. al.

Any Thoughts???

Just open up Windows Messenger, Tools, options, preferences tab...uncheck those 3x checkboxes up front which tell it to start with windows, etc etc.

That's it!

Thanks Stonecat, but I would like to get all the extra bloat out of my harddrive if I can.

You CAN uninstall it if you want.
