Comcast speed bump? When?

Last month I called Comcast to see about getting the "Pro" service, which delivers 3.5 mbps. We currently have 1.5mbps for home users. The rep told me that by the end of October all homes would be going to 3mbps...but it hasn't happened yet...

Does anyone know when Comcast plans to finish the roll out to 3mbps?

I think these dates are 'change by' dates, as our system (Indianapolis) is dated Dec. 23, but we actually upgraded this week...

Now how can we be "Silly" Hicks? Been called a Dumb Hick all my life, but Silly is a new one on me. Must be a Yankee word. They got all the good words up North, ya know. An' all the fast cable, too. But we'uns got chitluns, sorghum molasses & black-eye peas (and slow cable. Least ways with slow cable I got time to read the words afore they disappear on me). Now how can THAT be silly?

If anyone is still listening: Thank you for the analysis, Wee One. It just so happens that we, too, were upgraded 3 days ago. Y'awl must've put in a good word for us. Good of you. But now the words go by so fast I kain't read 'em. But they sure are fun to watch whiz by! Now THAT'S silly!

PS- how do ya re-boot a modem? I have never seen any feet on the danged things to begin with, and if they did have feet, I reckon they'd wear shoes, 'cause they'd like as not would have short legs, anyway! Now socks is another issue entirely.

I rebooted my modem and got my speed bump. Its just like the Comcast@HOME speeds.

I feel MUCH better now.

3Mbit speed for regular users, that's gonna suck for me... I currently have a Pro (3Mbits down) account and in the after noon I hit about 1.6Mbits....

Comcast better split my node, Comcast didn't leave enough room for growth around here in the sticks... I guess they didn't figure everyone and their mother was going to sign up, hehe.. Hardly any residentual area around here can get DSL and VeriZons lines around here suck for dialup aswell, so Comcast is by fare the #1 choice.

We need a wireless ISP.

Latest info from Comcast customer support (oxymoron) is sometime between now and February for upgrading DFW to 3 mbps downstream.

Personally, I think it's a small population over at Comcast who have the even slightest clue as to what's being worked on.

got our speed bump today. if your in the new haven area just unplug the power to your modem for a minute or two and plug it back in. speed increase is there.

Yep, It's here in Texas... Getting between 3100 and 3200 down and 230 to 240 up...... Yep... Not the 9600+ of above but tolerable for sure...

still not in effect here.. I just got installed today, and my test results are always 1730 dn and 150-170 up. I'm just outside sacramento ca which was supposed to be upgraded on the lst of the month.. sucks to be me I guess

The upgrades are fully done around here in the Washington DC metro area, they've been running their new ads on the local channels about the speed upgrade... (trying to get new users)

Depending on where you are in the Dallas area most do, the only ones that I know don't (from postings at dslreports) are the frisco area... I'm in Arlington and have it.. I know people in Dallas, Mesquite, Plano, and Irving that have it... Comcast never sent Email but if you talk to them they admit the upgrade is here..
