When you download a file, you get the option to open, save as.

Click save as, tell it where to download.

Well I found a way to change the download directory... havent found a way to get it to ask where you want to put it.

I'll keep looking... but for now use that tweak, and they willl go to the directory that you want.

but I want to be able to left click and it open a dialog asking me where to save..

I thought that was what the right button was for - save as and then a window pops up- then you change to the folder you wish

sorry if I have misunderstood

This might help, can't remember where I found it.

Sometimes when downloading files with IE and the little box pops up.. you click never ask me this again by mistake.. Or it is simply downloading to the wrong location... If you want to change the location or have it prompt for downloads you can try this...

My Computer... Tools... Folder Options...File Types.
Scroll down to the extension type of the file type your trying to download (.zip/exe ect)
Click the Advanced button... Check "Confirm open after download"...

It should now prompt you to save the file and where you want to save it..
I don't know the same things you don't know.
