Winamp 5.0 is the latest version of the groundbreaking media player that helped start the MP3 revolution. We've listened to all the wonderful feedback we've received and used it in the making of this new version:
Winamp 5.0 adds support for all your favourite Winamp 2 and 3 skins (respectively called Classic and Modern skins) within one player.

The improved Winamp Library allows you to easily browse your music and videos while allowing you to have easy access to your favorite Internet Radio and TV stations in one place.

Easily rip all your favorite CD's into the new CD quality AAC format (for free) or into the universally supported CD quality MP3 format (part of Pro version) right through your Winamp Library.

Tiny footprint when running. I never liked Winamp, but i could like this.

After using iTunes for a bit, I think I'll be sticking with it for a while. Much nicer UI imo

Winamp 2.81 forever!

I hated Winamp 3, it sucked ass

I'll try Winamp 5, but if it was anything like 3 I'll be stickin to 2.81

I never used Winamp, I love WMP9, But this version seems pretty nice, Not like the others.

Well i just tried that. You would think that if they made a windows version it would atleast WMA.

Foobar 2000 for playback of mp3's wma, most lossless formats...Ogg Vorbis, MPC ect ect...

The guy who wrote it, used to do the critical updates for Winamp. He got fed up with them and wrote his own program.

It's pretty much a no frills program, but it has great playback imho..

The only thing I really needed on Winamp 2.8, 2.9 was the jump function, which was not included in version 3. Luckily someone developed a plug-in for version 3.

Winamp 3 is pretty neat with all these cool skins.

seriously, whats the point of updating when nothing changes? all i care about is if it plays an mp3 fast and smooth. that is all.
