these name changes have got to go!

Post by zooner »

A while back I asked to change my handle at another forum to zooner because that's what i've been using for quite some time, but they were shocked at even the idea.

It's really ripping at the whole idea of a safe community when you have no idea who you're talking to. I have a hard enough time as is it remembering names and I currently have two transactions going on, name changes just make it more difficult. Since we dont have a visual face to a name, constantly changing names is a bad idea. You associate names (in leiu of faces) to emotional responses and memories.

if someone really feels the need for change, then take a shower and change! Change your avatar! Change your quote!!

I know nothing can really be done, do it for one and then you must allow all the copycats to follow along.

venting.

I don't have a problem with people changing their user names to their real name it makes it more personal, but if someone wants to change their name from say Dillweed over to TowelBoy or something like that then it's not right.
Respect it.

Awe damn, is Towelboy taken??? :(

And seeing as I am one of the name changers, I think it important to have this option available to us as long as there is note of it in the Sig for awhile.

We are all semi intelligent people here and should be able to keep track of a name change here and there

Name changes? What name changes?

Name changes are the easy part to remember. The hard part is keeping track of all the new members.
