Judges will be the downfall of the USA

Post by Leatherneck »

I can't believe my eyes and my ears watching the news right now. An officer in Massachusetts legitimately pulls a man over for a minor traffic infraction and approaches the car and sees 2 pounds cocaine in plain view. A judge throws the case out because he "believes" the officer is racially bias. I guess It's O.K. to pull a white guy over, but not minorities.

The man admitted he was going to traffic the cocaine, but it doesn't matter. Judges are out of control mocking the law and re-writing the constitution. My kids see this stuff & wonder what is going on. They want to know why minorities get away with everything? This is coming from a child.

America is crumbling and fast.

I was just watching that as well. The judge believes that the officer was racially profiling the driver. No matter that the coke was in full view. Facts are facts, if you get pulled over for a traffic infraction and the officer sees something else, that is perfectly legal in most states. I could make a case that the judge was also racially profiling since he assumed that the officer was biased. Doesn't that make the judge biased as well? It does seem to be a one way street anymore.

I have read the same in Time, Newsweek and several other sources.....

So what do you tell your child? Do you explain why the civil rights movement was necessary? Did you explain that the news media ususally tells stories that are sensational (Exciring or crazy...)?

I agree whole heartedly that the judge was wrong, why did he even consider this to be racial profiling?

"Posted March 29, 2002 -- More Blacks and Latinos are behind bars in jails throughout the country than any other race, a recent study by the Human Rights Watch shows"

Its funny how minorities claim this to be because of racial profiling, when in fact the statement proves itself alltogether. Its not racial profiling, its just fact, more people of those races disobey the law. This isnt racist, or rude, its fact. Im sick of these pro-minority judges/etc, so pathetic.

I linked the above to contradict the assumption that minorities get away with everthing. It was the main reason why I posted.

It proves that more of these people are punished for breaking the law. It is a class based issue. Those with money can afford the lawyers to worm their way out of jail time. Blacks and Hispanics typically inhabit the lower social strata.

I understand that this is a matter of perspective. We can look at statistics and see what we wish to see from them.

Break the law... go to jail.... **** racial profiling.. it's just a pivot tool for not taking blame for their own actions.

How come we never read about judges that do the right thing? Or jurys that work......

Take one judge out of zillions that screws up and the country is going to the birds? Dunno....If we are headed to hell in a handbasket.....imho..it has more to do with corporate greed than judges.....again..imho..
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

It's really not the judicial branches fault. Its the executive branches fault for carrying out what the judicial says when they don't have to.

Yes, but his powers are extended elsewhere at the cost of some of his executive powers.

That's a tough thing for me David. My family associates with minorities in school, work, church and play. My girls have friends that are black, indian, hispanic and my oldest (12) goes to a predominately black school. They do not seem to make any judgements at all concerning race. We are a Christian family and I have always told my kids that we are to love people, but that doesn't mean we have to agree or sacrifice what we know is right. They know some people are evil and they also know about racism. They are very tender-hearted and I hope thay don't get hurt.

You are right about the media. The way the story was told, it looked like this guy got away with a major crime strictly because of race. It frightened both my kids and my wife because they feel like law enforcement personnel are losing the right to take down "bad guys".

It's all beginning to take shape in my eyes. We shall become a socialistic, rather lazy, government dependent, overtaxed (wealthy unfairly) Godless society. Gee, sounds like France! OOPS is that some sort of profiling?

Who in their honest opinion thinks this country is getting better? It's unreal. I'm glad I have the script or I'd be scared to death!

The media doesn't give a Rat's behind about "good".

I agree about greed, but that's a can of worms. Guys at work rant about "Corporate" being greedy. Did they or did they not agree to the wage & benefits offered? Some of these guys want a million dollars for their hard earned GED.

I am as scared as you, but from a different perspective. I see a country becoming more divided between the haves and have not. Our job market has been shipped overseas. We are indebted to countries who have no love for us. Our youth has been poisoned with the status based on consumerism. Happiness with self has become fleeting. Communities have been "malled" over. I could rant on.

Like you, I am pretty much disgusted with television.

I am relatively wealthy, I do not feel "overtaxed". Unlike those who make more than I do, I actually PAY taxes. With wealth comes ways of sheltering.

My acumen for coping with it all is vigilence and education. It will be that of my daughter as well.

Be careful, you might be accused of telling the truth!

In my city, there was a law suit a few years back that resulted in a massive shake-up in the public schools. Bussing was a new curse word. It cost the city over 37 million dollars in legal fees and led to state control for 7 years. The suit charged that minorities did not get the educational advantage that the kids recieved on the "other side" of town. The end result was sad. The only thing it achieved was lower average scores on all testing in all public schools. Take that however you want. We are finally out of the suit and trying to put things back together, but it will be a long journey.

One Judge??

How about several judges in California that have ruled:

1)The Pledge of Allegiance was unconstitutional

2)Americans do not have a right to bear arms

and

3)Motorists should not be prosecuted if they wasted on marijuana while driving.

Liberals realize they can't destroy this country through the Executive branch so they have infiltrated the Judicial branch to do their work.

I thought we lived in a democracy where majority ruled.
