Verizon ADSL DNS Errors...

Post by NoobieTweaker »

Well here is my problem, every 5 minutes I get "Page Cannot Be Displayed" (Me surfs the web alot :D ) Im guessing its a DNS Error so I try to flushdns. It works but 5 minutes later same thing all over again. I have scanned for any Spyware, Virus, and Worm but none where found on my computer.

Can someone please help me out with this problem.

If yall can't help its alright because calling Verizon will be my last resort. Then bring on the format C: :D

Thanx In Advance

From TCP/IP Analyzer

TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 34848
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 34848

For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1393.92 kbps (174.24 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 557.568 kbps (69.696 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 52 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000
Compaq Presario 5843: Celeron 500Mhz: 320 Ram: Windows 2000 Pro: Internet Connection ; Verizon ADSL (Bronze): Up to 1500 Kbps/128 Kbps: Normal Connection (Ethernet) :D

Do you have a router that is taking DNS requests for you and forwarding them to Verizon's DNS servers?

rpeAMP,

You might ask Verison to check your connection for lost packets. Sounds like you are experiencing noise on their network, or you're just dropping packets.
