HP 6P contrast of printout not even

Post by joey »

the contrast of the print out comes not even - from left to right-
on the left hand side it is bright/light , in the middele it is dark / good and at the
right hand cside is bright/light again.
i cleaned the black soft roller under the tuner and it is a little bit better.
but still no good. i repalaced the tuner with old one and now every thing is bright/light . it is very diffecult to say if there is any differance.
i am going to order new tuner but for the mean time, is there any thing i can check in order to save time ?
also after i cleaned this roller (with alcohol) i have very thin white line from top to bottom about 2' from the left hand side
i appreciate very much any help. thank you in advance

when you say Tuner ... Do you mean Toner ??

6P is a Laser printer right ??

When was the last time you put on a maintenance kit and replacd the Fuser ??

The Fusers are one of the first things to go in a Laser ( besides the Toner ) and that's why it's a user replaced Maintenance Kit . Every so many pages it needs to be replaced , We used to always push ours until print quality looked like ****e . Then replace it and Voila ... :) Saves some extra cash flow that way as they will usually go for an extra 50-100% time frame.

sounds like a toner cartridge problem, that roller you cleaned is the transfer roller. You aren't suppose to clean it or touch it, even the oils from your hands will detroy it. Sounds like you might have to replace the tranfer roller as well.

YEha both the Transfer roller or the Fuser could cause the issue , but the Transfer Roller is usually packaged with the Fuser , so if you purchase a Maintenance Kit ( sometimes can get expensive ) It shoujld include the Fuser and all replacable rollers ( including tray rollers )

Now this is for some larger models ( 5si, 8100,8150, older 3916 and 3912 ) , I'm not sure if the 6 P includes all that stuff or not .
