Overclock?

I was able to get 500 mghtz out of a pentium 2.4c chip. Is this good for an overclock with stock fans, heatsinks?

I have run my 2.4 at 2.8 for 2 months with only an additional case fan, and have had no problems. It does run a bit hotter but it levels out and seems to be fine. Just remember to keep everything clean and well ventilated, other than that...???

People are getting 3.2 GHz and higher from the 2.4C with stock Intel HSF's.

550mhz from a XP 1700 "B". It's got more in it, but I haven't pushed it yet.

At $45, it's like stealing.

Thinking back....remember those Celeron 300a's? They'd almost always clock to 450, 464, even 502. A few lucky peeps obtained 558.

The climb in megahertz isn't all that much...but the percentage of overclock is insane! Imagine bringing that same percentage increase to todays CPU's?

P4 2.0A @ 2.9GHz. I had it running at 3.0GHz stable (150FSB) on a GA-8IHXP, but I wasn't comfy with it there. So I keep it at 145FSB and I'm a happy camper. :)

99.9% of a P4 2.4Hgz chip is 3.3Ghz and that's with good cooling. Maybe with a prommy he can get 3.4 maybe even 3.5 tops. With LN2 it could be pushed close to 4Ghz.
