Wireless network help!

Post by SnowWolf »

Right, so yesterday I tried to do the wole WEP encoding thing, it didn't work so well and i coudln't get everything connected, so I just reset my router, but now, my comptuer using Windows XP PRO won't let me connect to this network because it will only let me connect to WEP networks, there's a little box right on the wireless connectivty screen that says "if you check this box and select a non-WEP network you can connect to it" but it still won't let me, even if i check the box. If I don't figure it out i think i'm just gunna reininstall windowsXP, my other comptuter, which is XP HOME connects absoloutly fine w/ no coxing, just had to turn off verification, whihc i'm done to hte windox XP computer..

Any help is greatly apreciated, i'm using the
D-Link DI-624 router
and the linksys Wireless G wireless desktop adapter..
Thanks!

I am having the same problem but with different equipment. It doesn't happen in Windows 2000 only XP and it is not the hardware (I determined this with Linksys after 2hrs of testing) It's something funky in XP. It's so frustrating.
