I was wondering

Post by goldeneye_bill »

Has anyone else here who has Comcast Cable....or any cable for that matter....Had some sort of lines on their cable tv picture? It seemed to have started when we got the cable modem.....We fix it by tapping a stick on the splitter that splits the cable to go to the modem and then to the tv's......or sometimes it goes away by itself but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I think you answered your own question Bill, you have a bad splitter. Go buy a decent quality splitter and I bet the problem goes away, you may even improve your internet connection.

Like I said, decent quality splitter. Cable companies use the cheapest products they can, they buy in bulk and the lowest bidder gets the bid. Monster Cable makes high quality splitters. You would be suprised at how much signal loss is on cable lines from cheap and/or bad splitters and connectors.

No one's honest anymore are they? Well, would radio shack carry those or any of good quality? It's about the closest electronics store, other than walmart.

I have a ATTBI splitter (1000+ MHZ) but after the spilt, there is a blue filter on the wire that goes to the TVs.. and a red filter on the wire that goes to the modem. Not sure what the [Matrix] red/blue pill [/Matrix] does but all is well with respect to the TV and the Internet.

I'm guessing it blocks the TV signal portion of the cable to the modem, when I had @Home service, they slapped a blocker on the internet line so I couldn't watch TV of of it.

I knew it was spittler that was causing slow uploads I knew it that or the cable it self. I only wrote this due to the fact I hate when i am right and the same time i wasn't 100 percent sure of my answer.
