Help Any1?

Post by Skyer101 »

Sup everyone. I was wondering if someone could help me in making my net speed a bit faster.

I went to the TCP/IP optionizer thingy and did it and then downloaded the tweak_2k for Xp.

But I haven't notice a difference at all. I play PC games alot and I run a Cable connection supplied my Roadrunner.

Just relpy if you know if I could tweak it up a bit.

i just did a Speed test and I was wondering if this is good for my computer.

2003-06-05 16:30:48 EST: 2093 / 289
Your download speed : 2093233 bps, or 2093 kbps.
A 255.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 289226 bps, or 289 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Reply plz if you know.

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 52 hops

Maybe this might help more...

More like a daily sitcom rerun :D

Simple instructions if you ask me, and posted so often even a n00b could find it if they looked, so why don't they?

Who knows :D

btw - I saved the css file you helped me with making a while back, and have it on CD for any future need, thanks. My speeds are always good.

Note to newcomers:
Once mnosteele sets your connection up in cablenut, make a backup of the file, and you won't have to ask again after a format :)
