i wonder if its possible to access network shares to a local network from a computer with no operating system, only dos when i start with a start disk. maybe i must have some network drivers?
i have no idea how this may work. anybody with some experience and step to step information?

At the present moment I have a P4 2.53 ghz and so far as I am concerned it uses a lot of electricity. So I wonder if I can go in on BIOS settings and slow down the speed for example down to 200-600 mhz over the night when I just have it on for downloading stuff, to reduce my bills on electirity ...

I recently read that RAS and VPN are used to login into a remote network over the internet. Then you can work with the remote network as if you were there. Is that true? If thats the case, why are there two technics for same purpose? And which one of them is best?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I know that there are some remote control programs that you can use to control a computer like I was sitting in front of it. Have some of you used Remote Administrator 2.1 (2.2)?
It is a very fast remote control program and very easy to use...and I have to say it again..it is VERY FAST.
Have use VNC but think that is slower. Have I wrong?
