the modem is External Creative Modem Blaster v.92 DE5721 Serial.

the port i use is COM 1 but i also tried the COM 2 port and i have enabled them all in BIOS! very weird!

i use to manage every hardware problem but this is VERY weird therfore i have no idea.

i wonder if its possible to access network shares to a local network from a computer with no operating system, only dos when i start with a start disk. maybe i must have some network drivers?

I recently read that RAS and VPN are used to login into a remote network over the internet. Then you can work with the remote network as if you were there. Is that true? If thats the case, why are there two technics for same purpose? And which one of them is best?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I know that there are some remote control programs that you can use to control a computer like I was sitting in front of it. Use Remote ADMINISTRATOR 2.2!

Have some of you used Remote Administrator 2.1 (2.2)?
It is a very fast remote control program and very easy to use...and I have to say it again..it is VERY FAST.

Have use VNC but think that is slower. Have I wrong?

Hi!! I have followed your conversations and all other information sources around the web and i think i have a clue on how to start up a remote computer with lan.
