I'm still bothered with the latency between you and 10.45.208.1, but cannot pinpoint since it seems it's not responding to ICMP requests in your ping stats.

Also, anytime you switch network devices from the modem it needs to be rebooted- this is because it remembers the last MAC address it synced ...

Jammin1968- you're probably better off starting a new thread with your issues as this one pertains to the WiFi specific issue, ya know?

You'll attract more 'help' with a properly tagged thread. The Software forum might be suitable for your new thread. :-)

Yes, I saw the link you provided; however, the current device - the HG521 - you have is fine. Whether you buy a new modem or not, you still need to configure the settings, you know? That "crappy router" is only enabled for one device to be physically connected to it - so that's either, 1. a single ...

Hi. I looked up the HG521 model and it seems to be modem/router combo. However it does not have any wired ports, well except for the port to connect a single computer, or secondary router.

Now, I'm not familiar with the HG521's internal settings, but I believe you'll need to find a way to shut off ...

Yeah, I think there's an issue at the OSP, or further into Mediacom's network- perhaps their core routers.

Either way, you should really be getting on Mediacom. Most of the time when you complain to an ISP, and there's nothing they can see that relates to their end of the network, they ...

OK, your signal stats are fine, so I'm assuming it's an issue with the edge router at 10.27.114.1 - and probably effecting everyone else connected to it, too.

Just for future reference - for acceptable signal stats:

Transmit: 30dbmV to 55dbmV

What cable modem are you using with Mediacom? Most brands allow you to access the modem's internal stats page at http://192.168.100.1 -- if you're able to go there, then try and find the "signals" page, which should show a receive, transit, and SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) numbers.
