Help me tweaking my connection

My download speeds are around 1600 kbps now they use to be around 2000-2200 kbps but my upload speeds have gone up a little bit by 4-5 KB/s.

These are my stats .. plzz help

TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460

But thing is my upload speeds are now around 280 kbps but download is around 1600-1700 kbps which used to be 2200 kbps before tweaks :(

So tweaks worked :) before this I rarely use to get 34 KB now I am easily getting around 33-34 KB :)

to go from KB to kb you multiply by 8
to go from kb to KB you divide by 8

Tweaks from speedguide and PCpitstop would not allow you to uncap your modem.

Cable Modem Help - plzz

I am getting speeds of around 35 KB/s while sending files on IRC and sometime on start speeds hit 50 KB/s they remain same for 5-6 secs but then again come back to normal.

I was using some tweaks I am scared I havent uncapped my modem by mistake. I have cox caps are 3000/300.

Hey, I get disconnected from IRC and software says that

*** [10053] Software caused connection abort

I heard this is winsock error .. does anybody knows how to solve this problem .. I have resintalled MIRC and i am not using any routers

I saw on microsoft site they suggested to disable wins ...

I want to use Anonymizer to hide my IP address .. I have windows XP and Cable connection .. I wanna know does using Anonymizer slows down your internet connection or it has some other type of conflicts.

This is one of the most annoying problems with Cable :mad: I use to have the same problem :(

what error you get when you try to open a site in internet explorer .. does it gives DNS error :rolleyes:

I have solved the problem actually it was happening due to negative DNS caching ... so I have to disable negative DNS caching to solve the problem ;)

Circuit city has some great offers on Cox cable .. I got mine for only $55 including motorala cable modem with first month free :)

My PC doesnt obtain my IP - PLZZ HELP

I am using Cox Cable with Motorola SB4200 modem on win xp. Sometimes I am suddenly disconnected from the internet. I have to release and renew the IP address to solve the problem. Sometimes it even refuse to renew the IP address saying connection timed out.

My computer is set to obtain IP address ...
