what do you see when you enter "net view \\MEDIACENTERPCNAME"?
any Eventlog entries?
can you ping? (firewall has to be eventualy switched off!)

We´re using Surfcontrol Webfilter since 2002. Perfect Solution. - Catagory´s updated hourly. - Categories Chat, Streming Media (youtube, etc.) are set to 1/2h per day. Download of exe´s and other unsafe staff forbidden.

seems to be an MTU Size problem.
When you´ve got direct acces to the internet, run SG TCP/IP Analyzer!
- try reducing generaly the MTU for the connecting computer to e.g. 1300 for all adapters 1st, you can switch back later and identify the Adapter which has to be reduced.
Eventualy it´s an ICMP ...

On HP Procurve gigabit twistedpair ports AUTO is most offen the best.
If selected specific speed (eg. 100Mbit/HalfDuplex) this has to be set on the connected Device (PC, Printer), too.
Have a look into the Port counters of the Procurve! (telnet console)

how is the unknown AP connected to your sniffing PC?
crossovercable?
hub?
switch? - has to manageble to enable mirrorport!

Gateway can only be removed with fixed ip address. - not with DHCP!
The problem you have, that you will have two default routes.
open cmd Window: route print
when both adapters are connected, you will find the 2 Gateway adresses
try:
route del 0.0.0.0 (should delete both)
route add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0 ...
