Coffee shops usually run "open" wireless networks...with the intention of it being a value add service for their clients. People go into coffee shops...purchase coffee, muffins, bagels, etc etc. So the coffee shops make money that way..and offer this service as a value add, and ...

Actually, it would fly in court!
There are no federal laws regulating whether or not one wirelessly connects to someone else's wlan. The only law, an FCC law, states clearly that it is legal to receive any unencrypted wifi signals and data transmitted, but it is absolutely illegal to receive ...

If it's free for customers of the coffee shop why is okay for him to be sitting in his car in the street and using it? can't be blamed on the coffee shop having it unsecured, that's like saying it's okay to steal a car because it's unlocked.

I don't totally disagree with the law, seems like it ...

word of warning on SP2 Win XP

I found a sp2 copy and it worked.

I think microsoft got sick of me calling all the time to activate my copy of windows and just set it to let me activate over the internet every time without fail.
