Personally, I like the Router option. The Linksys BEFSR41 only costs about $149 at Best Buy. I understand the pros and cons. But for anyone who is not familiar with setting up and configuring a "server", it is so much simpler that the cost is justified IMHO.

Of course, I say this even though I now ...

That system now has the "Web Page" tweak and the TCP/IP tweak settings from this site.

After making the changes you suggest on the primary system. I can confirm that it seems to have had a positive effect. Thank you, very much!! :)

I did as you suggested. No results were returned.

I also decided to apply the VTCP.386 "fix". That does help the site load more quickly. I'll just have to wait and see if the issue returns again. :)

I had to pull my system off the router. Call tech-support for the information to set up my system with a "static" IP address. Then I was able to reinsert the router, enter the configuration info, and set my computer to DHCP.
Note: even if you don't use a static IP for the router, you still have to ...

Well it's not just that processors, RAM, and the other parts are especially inexpensive. Though they are quite inexpensive!! Supposedly the "market" is slower than usual and some of the big OEMs didn't have a great Christmas season. So they are really trying to get rid of stock. Earlier this year ...

Problem loading SpeedGuide.net

Basically, IE stops responding 3 out of 5 times I attempt to access the site. And it only happens at this site. The system is as stable as can be expected. Considering it has Microsoft's latest consumer OS.

I actually leave the system on all the time. I have top quality components. I've tried ...

Hum! I don't know about this!?! I have the same SB3100 sitting right next to me. Until I actually Upload this reply. I'm absolutely certain that the light will not blink. (I am watching it just to be sure)

Now on other occassions; like when I'm playing music using Sonique (which I allow to report ...

Hi Andrewe77 ! I was in the same situation when I first had the cable service connected. You will need to call up tech support and have them set you up "static". You can then plug those values into the BEFSR41 and it will work. But you will have to call tech-support. They are the only ones who can ...

Hey there Duzmore ! I understand how you feel about this. Normally you do "get what you pay for". I've worked with a bunch of different stuff and one of my observations is that, while 3Com's stuff may perform slightly better under some circumstances. They actually do have a higher than average ...
