i have a problem. my cable lags out every so often and i can't use my internet. the only way i can get my internet back is if i reset my modem, and then it will work fine. but that's too much hassle for me and there must be a reason for it. all my cable lights are on but my internet just lags out ...

could i just switch my service to bronze so that i pay cheaper for the same speed and then just switch back to silver as soon as the speed is reverted back in march? i could save a lot of money.

I currently have the silver package was was able to download at 100kb/sec. Now I can download up to speeds of 268kb/sec. Did Charter upgrade my service? Where can i find information about what each package delivers now?

are you going to be playing counter-strike? if so, i would probably stick with cable. basically, cable has been the most consistent with almost every gamer friend i know. some people i know had dsl and said they'd go with cable anyday to play games.

this may be a retarded question but i was wondering if i wanted to get a splitter, what kind should i get and would it affect my internet connection at all? i think i remember hearding something about how splitters will change your signal or something and could possibly decrease internet quality.

i returned the router and got a linksys. that router is idiot proof. i hooked up everything and it worked fine. i did everything the same as i did with the other router.

yes, they could ping my modem from their end.

yes, i unplugged cable modem power and plugged it back in waiting about a minute and it was able to sync up(with the pc off).
