A mystery: Video calling smooth only w/ file transfer
ok guys I have a weird problem. My GF and I are currently apart and we communicate using netbooks. I have an acer apsire one and she has a EEEPC 4G 701. We use skype for video chat which works but is choppy. I figured my GF's EEEPC is too weak to show smooth video. One day I was transfering her some ...

Network sharing giving headaches, odd and frustrating problem
My network is driving me nuts. XP is a pain to network, gets worse and worse with every OS release I think. I need file sharing to work but unfortunately it has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. What causes it to swtich, god only knows. I can have my computer on, not even ...

10mbit faster then my 54mbit wifi (file sharring)
I previously had a 10mbit setup through wire. When transfering files from one PC to another I got around 500kb/s which is about what it should be. I just recently upgraded to a linksys 54g wifi setup with 2 inexq 54g usb adapters (1 per pc) and my homen network has gone to hell. Most of the time I ...

My network slowed down by 1/2
I only have a 10Mbit network so I need all the speed I can get ;) . I havn't used the network much until now, but I remember testing it back when I still had Win98 and I had twice the transfer rate than now. I used to reach almost 1mb/s, which is pretty much all you can get from a 10Mbit network ...

Network is down, can't get it back up, plz help ASAP.
I need it back up tomorrow so please help. I have a Win2K machine, WinME machine, Win95 machine and now a WinXP Home Notebook hooked up to a 10Mbit network. I setup the network between the previous 3 machines quite a while ago to set them up quicker, but besides that I didn't use it much. Now my ...

Lost network file sharring, can't get it back up
I'm running out of ideas to fix my problem. I have 3 computers networked at home. I have a Win2K machine, WinME machine and a Win95 machine. At first it took quite some time to get the file sharring networking up and running because the Win2K and WinME machines always had problems finding eachother ...

Casio E-125 Cassiopeia w/ wireless network
I am looking into buying my first PDA. I read a lot of reviews, and the Casio E-125 seems to be the best for the buck currently. Price is important to me, and I was looking for a Pocket PC that had a 16bit screen, Type II CF expansion port, and a decent processor, and the E-125 has all that.

How to resend a TCP packet?
I'll keep it short. I captured a TCP packet going out, can anyone tell me if there is some software out there that'll let me re-send this packet as many times as I want?

How slow of a PC can you go with Sygate Server and not loose download speed?
All day I've been having problems with wingate, nothing worked. I then heard about another program called Sygate Home Networking that will also allow me to set up one computer as the server and all other computers connected to it would get internet. First try, it worked perfectly. Now this was just ...

Registry preventing re-installing NIC or other PCI devices
My registry is preventing me from re-insalling or installing new hardware into the same PCI slots. I bought a new network card but it wouldn't work in the same slot where my old NIC was. I installed in the slot above which never was used and it worked. I replaced my sound card with the new NIC and ...

Setting up a server for multiple internet capable computers using only 1 IP
I used to use a trick to get all the IP's I wanted from my ISP. Lately though that trick isn't working and I'm limited to 2 IP's. I would like to set up a server to which all other computers will connect too. The server will be a PII300 with 256mb of SDRAM. The network will be 10BT by the way. Here ...

Strange major Shaw@Home slowdown, after only 1 day!!!
I had Telus 1.5Mbit ADSL and was getting ~170kb/s but I decided to try out Shaw@Home cable. I took the 2 month preview, definitely enough time to compare.
After the install guy came I tried both Shaw and Telus speedtests on my Shaw@Home cable connection. I was amazed to get close to 500kb/s. The ...

Do these patches also improve ping?
I have ADSL and I'm already getting a good speed. I'm limited at 1.5Mbit but I almost reach that limit all the time so I don't need to improve my download speeds. What I would like to improve is my ping for multiplayer games, would these patches do this?
