Normally if I start getting funky pop-ups, redirected home pages, additional bookmarks, etc and neither Ad-Aware nor Spybot picks up anything I will enter the name of the site and "remove" in Google. 99% of the time someone has posted steps to get rid of the offended irritant. I know I had one bit ...

A sad day indeed.
I had to remove my e-mail address from my .sig here, someone read it and was kind enough to send me a zip file containing a Worm named... er, Beagle. As thisis the only place my e-mail address was posted I am forced to assume someone read one of my posts and sent it to me ...

Might also want to try Everest Home Edition. You can get it here. 'Course I think it only runs on Windows, but we can't all be perfect.

TES: Oblivion
Have seen the screen shots and read the previews currently available for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. It looks great! But has anyone heard if they are planning to support any kind of multiplayer format in this one? Not that the lack of it will stop me from playing it to death, and then modding it ...

I am using Knoppix now. I like DS Linux for the web browser (it uses Firefox over Mozilla and I am partial to Firefox) but aside from that - Knoppix is HUGE . Better make sure your DSL is tweaked before you download it. :)

Hard Drive Upgrade?
I am slowly but surely plotting out the upgrading of my computer, and have a question:
After upgrading my RAM and Video, I have been thinking of getting two 70 GB Western Digital 10000 RPM hard drives and configuring them in RAID 0 for gaming and video editing purposes, with an external 250 on USB ...

Ever want to give Linux a try but afraid to actually install it on your hard drive and risk altering the file system from FAT32 or NTFS into something unrecognizable? (Been there, done that). Then I HIGHLY recommend DS Linux ! I am running it on the Dell listed in my .sig and it is great! Basically ...

Might want to go to Slackware.com and get version 10.0. Its free to download via ftp or torrent, or you can order all four disks for 39.95. At the very least you could download ZipSlack which runs off of a DOS partition to get used to using Linux.

I have tried the usual suspects: WinAMP and the free ones I could find on download.com. One thing you might want to pick up though - which is completely free! - gspot codec information appliance. Simple to use and works on finding codecs for the ones (like .avi) that MediaPlayer can't find.

A Tweak In Your Pocket?
This is more theory, really, but....
Has anyone ever tried tweaking a pocket PC? Avoiding the obvious question of 'Why?' and its answer 'Because we can', I am curious if anyone has attempted it and met with any success?

I have found that when a video requires a liscense and MediaPlayer starts looking for it, you are pretty much SOL. If you use any other mpeg viewer, it will simply fail to play. What happens is you download some video or another and next thing you know you're being asked to register on some French ...

Assuming you are using Windows XP, I would download a copy of Tweak UI from Microsoft, which is here. Once you have that, open the Logon branch and highlight Autologon. Then click the box next to the name you want to autologin and enter the password.

According to the system specs I have checked and the program I ran to get a list of all my system stats, my system does have an AGP slot but I need to enable it. I think, based on the advice here, that I will first increase my ram then next payday go with a 128MB AGP video card and try and overclock ...
