Thanks Rick.

All my video cards are nVidia but I only GPU fold on one box currently (and that is with an old card). I will try modifying it tomorrow.

Thanks for the information Rick. Say I have a single GPU system on a box showing 8 cores (technically 4 are HT). Is the test I should be trying dropping the number of SMP cores doing folding down to 4 or 2?

Someday I should really start folding with my more powerful GPUs at home. You seem to have ...

Cutting production for a while

It has been a good long run and I am by no means quitting but I have to shut off most of my home PCs and my PS3 for the time being. I have a few thousand a month in medical bills (all in the name of baby making!) that have forced me to squeeze out every dollar I can.

I am still folding at work and ...

When:

1) When genome@home was a separate project from folding@home?

2) Speedguide was close to our team number in terms of team ranking (forget where exactly we got to back then).

3) When all the stats started over for Folding@Home 2.0. All those years of work just to get above 10K gone. :)

Hehe thanks. Yeah I have a ways to go before I would be in the #1 slot. Usually, as I get closer YeOldeStonecat all of a sudden blows the doors off his production for 6 months. :D

It has been long but fun run trying to catch you Rickoic. I look forward to a resurgence someday.

It is a lot easier these days since the console executable can set itself up as a service for you instead of having to do it yourself or use a third party app.

Since you want to run 2 services it sounds like you have a dual core box. You just need to download the console version, put copies in 2 ...

I have a dual quad core Xeon I just put the fah client(s) on and it would be nice to run fewer instances. I can only run FAH on this box about 12 hours a day but that is better than nothing.

I agree that it is more work to run FAH on HT procs.

As it has been stated earlier, using 50% of the CPU on a HT box is not "broken" In order to utalize full CPU resources with multiple CPU's, virtual or physical, you have to run multiple instances of FAH.

You can use FireDaemon or WatchCat. I personally use FireDaemon though.
