can I get some help with EAC/LAME?

I've got EAC and LAME. When I go to rip a cd, I end up with .wav files, not .mp3. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

here are my compression settings:

that is the correct path to the lame.exe.

I've just been loading files and clicking the "MP3" button.

What the heck am I doing wrong? I've been using EAC to rip, then RazorLame to encode, but I'd like to do it all in one step.

Once the list from a cd is loaded and I get the info from freedb, I highlight all the files in my list, then goto the Action Menu and choose Compress (i believe that's the option).

This causes it to start extracting the file, then it encodes it, then it moves on to the next in the list.

Of course, this could be doing the exact same thing you are doing- just slightly different, but I end up with .mp3's everytime this way.

sorry for the not perfect directions, doing it from memory.

hope it helps :)

Pretty good.

Xbox is big lol.

When I get home if you haven't got this ironed out I will either a. send you a different program to encode with, or b. check out mine and see what's up. Everything looks ok. Have you rebooted?

I need to reboot right now and try again, I just updated LAME. I never have gotten this to work though, I have no idea why. And I have the current version of EAC so that shouldn't be it. It is quite confusing to me.

1. I take it your ripping ok? Since you have been using RazorLame...It must be.

2. Case sensitive...maybe...look at your lame exe...Is it LAME.EXE? Mine isn't...I'm using version 3.92 I believe...don't upgrade to 3.93. Too many bugs yet. Especially with the presets.

More info...what happens when you click the mp3 button?

thanks downhill, looks like the problem might be solved.

setting 'additional command line options' back to "%l--alt-preset 192%l%h--alt-preset standard%h %s %d"

seems to be working.

You shouldn't have to do that but if it's working...thats cool!

Watch your dos window and make sure your getting a vbr with that setting.
