I know alot of people like Newegg and everything but do they think they are kidding people with their horrendous shipping charges (on certain items)? I usually never buy from there cause I can generally always find it cheaper but when I did see that they have the Hitachi CM721FB in stock (that most others still have on backorder), I gave it consideration to buy it from them until I noticed the game they are playing.

They tend to undercut the price/competition and make up for it in shipping charges. Just as an observation, look at a specific sized monitor and see how the shipping charges are different among the brands. I understand some monitors weigh more and are not all equal in their size but to charge $11 more for a Black monitor as opposed to the same model that is beige is retarded. Hell, all the Viewsonic's range from $23-$30 +/- for 19" but the more popular Hitachi models are $30-$41 and weigh the same.

I know this is capitalism at it's finest but come on, don't try to act like the consumer is getting a deal cause you low ball the price and then just inflate the shipping. It would be nice if they would just charge actual shipping cost.

I think Brent explained it best to me when he told me that things are much cheaper (read: better) when you buy certain things such as mobos, CPUs, and/or HDs that have FREE shipping. That is where you really save your money.

HOWEVER, I am in TOTAL agreement with you. I bought some patch cables from them along with other things and they bent me over and...well, you know...with the shipping charges. Unless they are going to ship it 2day or something, QUIT OVERCHARGING!

I was going to order a 1600+ from them for my cousins new computer...untill I saw the 1700+ on AcessMicro.com for 52 compaed to the 59 NewEgg wanted...

some thigns are cheap while others arent, just gotta look and see.

Its a world of competition, every reseller does what they have to do to compete..... Newegg's is shipping.... if they have lower prices than other places, then people will spend more time on their site.....

their marketing team believes that lower prices will bring in more people than higher ship prices will drive out people.

Havent been to neweggs site in a while, but i do remember seeing a lot of things like mobos and CPU's having free shipping....

but also other things.... like patch cable have high ship rates.... but what can you do..... competition will be competition and without it you wouldnt be able to find a lower price somewhere else

I dont mind paying higher shipping prices for cheaper items... especially when it comes to returning those items, or any customer service for that matter

Newegg beats any competators customer service hands down, that alone pays for itself
