Cs problem

On cs when i try to join a server it says you can not join a server that is under a different protical number and when i go to update it says have the newest update.
ALso i tried downloading the new patch teh full one thats like 82 mb i think and when i install it it says that im using the wrong language and i have to use english and it exits the installation

ok i have a solution
stop playing crappy games like CS
and start playing quality games like Return To Castle Wolfenstein

Counter-Strike is a great game. Don't listen to that moron, he's just pissed he sucks at it.
I would re-install Half-Life then download the full CS v1.5.

Just cause its old dosent mean its not a good game. I bet it is still one of the most games played.

Your downloading the wrong update (most likely the retail one).
That's your problem.
If you have the mod version, you must get the mod version

hey are you usin the CS mod or retail?? if mod then you also need to update HL too to 1.1.0.1 i think it is and that should fix it.

retail = you paid money for counter strike
mod = you have halflife and downloaded counter strike off the net

Then you have retail. The full dl should be around 100 mb or something..
Cs is a great game. Ive had many other new games and they dont add up the the gameplay of counter strike.
Medal of honour= Pfft too slow
Wolfensteain= Gets boring fast

What came with it? Half-life or CS.
Easy way to tell.
Halflife wants to install in Subdirectory Half-Life, for example the MOD version of CS would be in directory c:\Half-life\cstrike (plus the fact that your shortcut would run "HL.exe - cstrike")
Retail CS wants to install in Subdirectory CounterStrike, for example the Retail version of CS would be in directory c:\CounterStrike\cstrike

hey download cs 1003 first then install it then dl cs 1005 and install that as well. cs 1003 is like 78mb and cs 1005 is 115mb... This will help.
