Right now i'm typing on my old Packard Bell with 56K because i can't connect with my cable modem on my other computer. My modem has not been able to connect since this morning. I went into winipcfg and tried release all renew all. It realesed all just fine, but when i try to renew all, it says "Error, DHCP server unavailable" What does that mean? Is there a problem with my computer? Or is there a problem down at the head end? It was working fine until about 10 AM.

Sounds like a possible problem in the head end...have you tried putting your ip address in statically?
