I was wondering if or how you can decrease lag in games online.I was just curious if there are settings to adjust in cablenut.Im on comcast.My downloads are fine with these settings,but lag seems to increased.I have it set for 99 max connections etc like Lobo said to try...should i try different rwin?thanks for any guidance...
TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 51100
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 51100
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2044 kbps (255.5 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 817.6 kbps (102.2 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 23 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 11111110
Precedence (priority) = 111 (Network Control)
Delay = 1 (low delay)
Throughput = 1 (high throughput)
Reliability = 1 (high reliability)
Cost = 1 (low cost)

If you search with nick "Lobo" or "mnosteele52", you'll find a lot of goods threads like
this one or
this post
Keywords "buffer" also
The buffer tweaks help me with my lag

But it's just a good beginning this tweak after you must customize and find your propers values.
It's a long long job

But at the start Lobo or mnosteele have goods advices, ask them

Try tcp Window size of 256960 or 513920 and TOS value of 92

Im on XP pro,1.4tbird,512ddr,sorry thought this was in my sig.
Ill try the #'s Lobo,but if i put them in window size,all also put the same #'s in the other spots as well,rwin,dsw,global max,etc?or just the tcw window size only?any other suggestions?

I used those settings steele,74460 as DRW.but it says Default rwin is still 51100 in this analyzer....is that right?

OK,got that change made,but it gives me this now,i always forget whick spot to put a 1 in so it reads the right rwin....
TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65535
Note: Under Windows 9x, if you have RWIN set to any other value, and the Analyzer reports 65535 you might need to install the MS Vtcp386 fix.
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)

I'm very sorry, I also missed TCP1323Opts needs to be 1 if your RWIN is 65535 or higher.

got it,
im going to play for awhile and see what happens,thanks for all the trouble lobo and mnosteele

i played about 15 minutes and no signs of lag,....Also my downloads for this time of day are higher also!I was getting about 20k more from a few sites i download from to test!
THANK YOU GUYS!
The buffer tweak is next...i hope i dont screw it up!

Yes I confirm

Me too, AFD settings have really an effect on the lag and ping

I 've said you mnosteele52 or Lobo were goods tweakers
