Sharing of files btw OSes

Post by lowjk »

Hi all,

I am thinking of venturing in Dual boot my system with WINME and WINXP. Currently my system is in dual boot into WIN 98SE and WINME using BOOTMAGIC 7. The thing is, i undestands that the system files are usually installed into the c: drive and the programs are loaded into the other partitions. But i realised that programs cannot be shared among the two OSes. Is there any way I can shared the program between the two OSes? Furthermore, i currently cannot boot into WINME as I have removed some startup files thru msconfig and have to work with WIN98SE. During startup, the system prompts me missing files c:windows\system.v??.exe and required me to locate the files. Will a WINME bootup disk solve my problem. Really hope you can help. Just for your info, BOOTMAGIC program is loaded in WINME OS and I cannot access it at the moment. I also do not have the BOOTMAGIC startup disk. Please advise

no you cannot share the program installation in most cases.. and i dunno bout ur windows ME issue.. i would reinstall it because usually when 'one' file is missing, there's lots more too and if u find em it prolly still won't boot

I was thinking of reformating, but had hope that i am able to at least go into WINME to backup some files. Luckily had already do some some time back. Posting my request here to all those whom may have the BOOTMAGIC 7 bootup disk to be sent to lowbjk@singnet.com.sg. Thanks.
