I don't even know why I waste my time checking this forum anymore, especially since there's an established hierarchy that people are quick to buy into. If there's one thing about the internet I don't care for, it's the way groups of people assume they have authority over individuals. This is turn creates a singular mind set of agreement (i.e.

), which people are hesitant to deviate from. Psychology books tend to agree that it's a trait observed during childhood and either perpetuated or distilled while in school.
Not surprisingly, this gradual change has turned a once interesting forum into a very boring place. I suppose it could happen to any forum that's intact for long enough, though. Now this forum basically consists of current events, "guess what happened to me today", repetitive computer config q's and inane jokes/giggles. So I bid you adieu and won't respond to the inevitable series of eye rolls followed by nods.

Geez, I don't think I've used either of those icons in months.
Nor do I think I've ever had a conversation with you, so leave me out of your blanket judgement calls.
Sorry if you feel you must leave, but if you think everyone here is in "a singular set of agreement" you are mistaken.
It seems

your time here, for now, is at a end. Sorry to hear that. But you know, some things are better left unsaid, but you have it set in your mind and your heart, you will say what you believe.

hmmmmm....interesting.
Before you go, and I'm totally serious when I ask this, PM me if you want, but what was interesting before which made it better then rather than the present?
Was it more conflict or something else?
Just curious.

See? Happy is EASIER than upset/brooding/pissed off. I tried the angst thing, and it sucks. Went back to dumb and happy, much better.

Well, I will respond to that since I didn't really address it in the initial post. From what I recall, there was more debate (or unique opinions expressed) and each post more substitive. I lurked here during early/mid 2000 and finally registered that August...then for whatever reason, just kinda forgot about this place and didn't return for a long time. Perhaps it's because I wasn't here for that gradual change, that I'm more observant of its existence.

I in no way think I have any authority over you.
I just think the negative way you present yourself has a way of turning a good thread to crap.
SeeYa!!
...and don't let the ban button hit you on the ass on the way out....

Sorry that we're not supposed to take a negative attitude to everything that goes on. I guess its our fault for actually enjoying stuff.
Anyway, leave if you want. Don't expect a party, because we're apparently a very "boring place." Good luck finding another decent message board that you feel you can fit into (or maybe the opposite, since that would be "boring"), since the rest of them are all t[h]e same.

jz-
Yer entitled to your opinion on what SG is/has become. Yer gonna run across the phenomonon(sp?) of similar opinion in forums due to the nature of the media. Most folks that come here and stay are chatty people by nature, intelligent, and lookin to have fun with words. Did you expect your somewhat downtrodden outlook to gain favor? People come here to escape from lifes bad bits and revel in some harmless fun.
If my statements as to your lack of humor offended ya, I'm sorry about that, but the fact still remains that being a gleefull soul is much easier than being morose. No drugs needed, just a want to not let the BS get ya down. I have many things in my life that I could use as an excuse to wallow in the doldrums, but I also have many things in my life to aspire to soar with the eagles, and *I* make that decision. I suggest you give it a whirl, can't hurt can it? I'm not saying you need to change, but make sure yer not short-changing yerslef by overlooking the good stuff in life, its out there in spades, just gotta hunt a bit.

BJS misses the point again, no surprise there.
Anyways, why would I go to the [H] forums? They're basically a carbon copy of SG.
Opa-Age is far more interesting for general discussion, debate and games.

Riight, so me seeing you put everything down is...all in my imagination, right? You can't even say a simple comment without having it dripping with sarcasm.
And about the Hard forums, I simply mentioned them since 95% of message boards are just like THEM (not SG). A majority of the members are kids whining about whatever, with the biggest amout of thought going into the "boobies" threads. Go where you want, but unless you're looking for a specific technical forum, you're not going to get much better than this. But then again, you've never been one to listen to reason or logic...

why are you trying to argue this if you've alread made up your mind?
is it cause your not sure if you really want to stay or go?
or is it cause you are trying to gain attention for yourself, or maybe start a debate?
or are you trying to prove yourself?
if your going to go, then go, fine, don't make a huge mess out of it
if your going to stay, fine, but don't alienate your peers, we need all the friends we can get in this world

I think I'm one of the causes..... The fact that I can't read any of your posts without clicking a second time proves that. You just seem to take things too seriouly when then don't need to be, like brembo's thread.... and to nonchalantly when they need seriousness. Leave if you want, stay if you want... but your tendency to post 'rolleyes' worthy responses more often than I see others' posr them leads me to take you less seriouly.... i just gave up and ignored you.

Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones ; The pot calling the kettle black:
referenceing the fact that you're not in a great position to accuse someone of doing something if you've done it yourself.
