========================

A Blonde was summoned to court to appear as a witness in a lawsuit. The prosecutor opened his questioning with,

"Where were you the night of August 24th?"

"Objection!" said the defense attorney. "Irrelevant!"

"Oh, that's okay," said the Blonde from the witness stand. "I don't mind answering the question."

"I object!" the defense said again.

"No, really," said the Blonde, "I'll answer."

The Judge ruled, "If the witness insists on answering, there is no reason for the defense to object."

So the prosecutor repeated the question:

"Where were you the night of August 24th?"

The Blonde replied brightly,

"I don't know."

"Same time your friend comes up to smell the flowers."

The clerk replied, 'We have birthday cards and we have anniversary cards.

Why not take one of each?'

The man said, 'You don't understand.

You see, we're celebrating the fifth anniversary of my

it's all good i guess... i can't ask for my money back cuz it feels weird asking for the money back.. i just can't always stand up for my rights. I'm more passive than assertive and people (friends specially) seem to take advantage of that :( oh well...

thanx for the kind reply minir.

Thanks for the laughs Minir. I am waiting impatiently for the Wings game :) I really hope they finish Vancouver off tonight because I can't stand game sevens. Hopefully the Leafs can finish the Islanders off tomorrow...

Hi DiskDoc

Well first off respect yourself and secondly insist others do the same. You are entitled to that much.

As to the money, it's yours, so all you asking is that something that rightfully belongs to you is returned.

I mention this as it would seem you are talking major bucks here. A twenty or a hundred i wouldn't worry about, but beyond that i would most definately ask for it back.

If no response then there is small claims court to settle such things.

There is nothing wrong with being passive DiskDoc
but real friends do not take advantage of that, nor should you allow them to.

People at times mistake being nice for being easy, don't allow them to be confused when it comes to you.

Good luck DiskDoc

Hi AAF Striker

Should be a Great game & it appears Detroit have it together now. Toronto is in tigt but should prevail as well.

thank you minir... thank you for your suggestions. It's really nice to see that atleast someone cares :)

Thing is, I always let people borrow whatever they want and never ask for it back because it kindda makes me feel ackward. He owes me over $550.00. He twice told me he was gonna pay me back "this week/next week," but i guess "this week/next week" never came for him. And asking for the money back would make me feel like I'm not being a friend to him. One of my other friend borrowed 12 of my brand new bought CD's. CD's that weren't even paid for at that time (bought'em online). Been 4 or 5 months now, she hasn't returned a single CD to me. I once asked for them back because I needed those CD's for my website, and she said she would return them the next day... never did (see her every single God given day)... lol soo ya see?? I asked once, can't ask twice... So, I just paid for the CD's (was like $150), and paused the upgrade of my site for months now... I'll continue when I can buy new CD's...

But thanks though minir.. I'm gonna have to change, change for myself and for my own benefits. :D

Hi DiskDoc & ms_pammy

Thanks to you both for your replies.

Glad you had a laugh ms_pammy.

DiskDoc

550 dollars is major money to most people and not something you just let stand imho as is 150 bucks in new Cds.

I never loan a CD as people do not treat them well to start with. But that's just me.

As to the young lady i'd stop by her house when you know she's there and ask for them then. She then has no excuses to use. If she doesn't have them as for the 150 bucks.

As to your 550 i'd simply tell him face to face unless you have your money in 30 days you will take him to Court. All costs will be his responsibilty as well.

Phone your Small Claims Court first to obtain any info needed to ensure you win and if it comes to that make sure you follow through on it.

You may be able to slap a lien on his car?

I hope you have a note or cheque stub showing you loaned him the money or at least a withdrawl in your staement to signify such.

Imho these people do not sound like friends to me, more like users. Friends like these you Do not Need imho.

Good luck

"Q: What changes would occur in your lifestyle if you could no longer drive lawfully?

I don't think i can take him to court.. i could never do that to who i thought/counted as my best friend. I'll give him another year or so.. see if he pays me back.. if not, then I'll ask for it or just let it go this time.. He also owes me small amounts of money from here and there but all of that put together would probably be around or under $250.. It's the $550 i'm sorta worried about. I have the withdrawl statement from my bank, but it's no use... i'd hate to get on his bad side.

Thanks for the great advice though minir. I'll keep that in mind for the future "users". :)
