If its around halfway through the movie, the freeze could be related to the layer change. Newer DVD-roms and faster computers have no problems with it, and unless you have an older DVD-ROM, I don't see how it would be an issue (especially in PowerDVD)

What graphics card are you using on the computer that freezes and how many megabytes is it? Also do you notice it is a bit choppy in playing? What resolution are you playing it at?

Well, I am thinking that there is a small nic or scratch on the DVD which causes it to freeze up. Try cleaning the cd with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth. What is probably happening is that it works in a regular DVD Player for the T.v. but not your DVD rom. I find that the DVD-Rom are more sensative then the actual DVD Players. If that does not work, try renting a copy of that same movie on DVD and try it. You may need to return that DVD back to the store for return and say there is an inperfection in the Disc which causes it to freeze. Try and just replace it for another one of the same movie. I hope this works for you.

Also how much memory do you have?
