Comcast Sucks!!!!

OK so far I have been patient, now I'm getting mad. Right now, 8:10 pm est. speed really sucks. My cable modem ( RCA DM105 ) lights blink like crazy, even when my computer is off and their is no activity. Whats going on???? Is something wrong with my modem? What if I bought my own modem, like a Toshiba, would that help? Do some work better than others? Check out this speedtest and tell me what you guys are getting.

Have you seen the breakdown of the new packages they may or are offering? Also what about my modem?

No the breakdown thing I think is March first, last time I saw modem lights blinking like crazy was when that code red virus hit, do you have virus or call neato ISP for new modem

Lobo, your modem lights dont blink with activity? Also do you know how to check for backdoor, or trojan horses?? Comcast told me it was people on the network trying to hack in, but its nothing to worry about. Do you believe that??? I got a router so i guess that helps.

After code red mine were blinking like crazy 3 weeks later, called ISP, got no where so had to operate, now I have new SB 410:)

Do you suggest a new modem???? I thought about buying one, and saving the rental fees. Would that fix the problem? Did it work for you?? What ones would you recommend? Thanks.

I have the RCA DCM-235 issued by CommunistCast Cable. My lights do and ALWAYS blink activity even when the puter is shut off. Although, with the comp turned OFF the PC-Link light is NOT lit so I feel there is no threat from anything. I almost never turn my modem itself off. Isnt it normal to see activity blinking?

Modems send packets regularly to the ISP to check connections. You can see that by opening up your Internet connection. If you wait for a while without going on the net, you will see packets sending back and forth from your computer to ISP.
