OK, guys.

For now, all 3 people are banned.

Ken what happend, i missed but ill say something while this thred is still up.

alot of people at SG seem to enjoy attacking or trashing peoples threds, if your new here you get attacked, if your not in the main group you get attacked and the attacker will soon have the followers backing him/her up.

as much as i like it here @ SG i think the admin need to make it very clear, people will be banned if they attack for no reason, if they trash threds, attack someone in anyway or play at being admin or forum mods.

make some new rules, so everyone knows whats what, give warnings then if the person cant hear he/she must feel, exp: banned.

Ken i will pm you a link and it will show you a forum bigger then SG, take alook the rules are rules for all, nomatter if you have 10,000 post or 1 post. noone fights there and everyone trys to help eachother.

read through the posts and see for yourself how everyone gets on, i go there alot about the same amount of time i spend at SG, both forums give me what i need, i feel SG has some smart people who know there stuff. i posted the other day asking for drivers and software for a old scanner and 3 people helped and thats what i want from SG to help and be helped, and to join in a good clean chat, but time and time again every bloody day theres a thred crap, attack, or people being above them selfs thinking they are all that matters in life the rest dont count, these people need to back of some, and not post in threds that want to become something more then a wasted topic.

attack me if you want, as many know i dont really care, im not the only one fed up with these people and the bs that brings the forum down..

If you were here when Compgeek posted that topic of his bashing brent , it would be very clear as to why he was banned and only shows that the MODS here ARE cleaning up.

bashing brent has been going on for a few months now, not just a recent post ok.

you say your annoyed at people trying to act important and the likes...yet you tell them that YOU can point them in the right direction?

If you didn't want to look important why would you not have just sent this in an e-mail or PM to Ken or anyone other mod, or Philip for that matter?


And do you think that someone who has been here for 2 or 3 years really has no more to offer than one who has been here a day? Any forum has certain things that make it unique. It is the members who have been here a long time passing that on to newbs that keeps someplace like this from turning into [H] or SA or drunkenforums.

For the most part the forum runs itself fine, with little interjection from mods compared to other sites.

I like Speedguide and don't feel it needs new rules or someone coming in and saying "I have the answers, listen to me"

Case and point. Look at our new member “The Devil”. I’d like this guy if he had 10,000 post or 1. The guy has class and it shows in every post he makes.

It’s not the number behind the name… it’s the quality of the post.

Noevo i put it here because i wanted to say it here, and im not doing this because i need to feel good about myself just felt like saying it.

as for pointing others in the right direction, me no not at all, but yes i sent Ken the url to see how people can get along in a forum with a harder rules, it keeps everyone in line and makes for a better forum.

i did say i like it @ SG as a member i only would like to see less attacks and more relax lol.

i agree we need to look @ for people that will try and make this a unhappy place to vist, and yes the mods here are alright. why dose this post have to be see as a attack, i dont like the way some people carry on here thats all, new people are still people and many just leave b4 they can start to fit in, because some of theses 5000 plus post people chase them off.

i think alot of people old and new really dont like the forum bullys, but say nothing and just try to fit in as best they can.

ive had and have pms of members agreeing with me on this.

Who would you consider forum bullies?

You mention large post count, we'll there are only about a dozen or so of us with lives devoid enough of activity to make the first page.

So I am assuming you mean me and a few other people that I know.

This thread is gonna run aground on the basis of opinion. We all have different views of different subjects. No way thats gonna change. The basic makeup of the people that post here dictates that. As a whole the diezens of SG are a feisty, intelligent bunch, not used to being proven "wrong" or being one-upped. That in mind, would it not be a reasonable assumption that the folks with four digit posts belong here? Its hard to post yer opinion 3k times and defend yourself on every post. Would get tiresome. So the regulars see fit to question someones post, and it gets heated? Not a huge deal. Click on the button for the top 20 posters, and you'll see that they are on average people that wanna have fun and learn.

Sometimes, just as in "real" life, people don't jive, and its gonna be the people with the most to lose that make the stink. Protecting thier assets in a way. You don't walk up to a group of strangers and just butt-in with your take on a situation do ya? It takes time, and lots of questions to get in with the group. People that don't respect that, often end up ruffleing the feathers of the veterans.

Thats just my rambling, pointless take on the situation.

The people who have intial problems on this board typically have difficulties with simple decorum. Think of entering any board as you would walking into a high school as a new student. Brashness and arrogance will command almost immediate rejection.

hey kano, pm me that link as well, i have been looking for another forum to go to. This one is too repititive at times and i think there is only a handful that really know there stuff. i won't say which but if its hardware and networking i would like to know what forum you speak of.

Notice that I have managed to skirt the issue at hand... That is because it is pointless to argue passed a certain point. There will always be a point in an argument that you (should) realize that the other is not or will not change their mind or see your side. It is at that point that you (being the better person) should move on. Not waste your time and energy trying to defend yourself or attack the other person.
You will never get along with everyone you meet. You can show tolerance. You can ignore. That last one is the easiest btw. You should never need to flame anyone - that's the mods jobs. I have been here for a few months I have over 600 posts and have only been flamed a few times and in a joking fashion by people that I respect here. If I see a post heading in the wrong direction I just site back and keep out of it and head off to try to help someone out in another thread. Maybe you should try it. I'm sure you'll feel better after you've helped someone as opposed to tearing someone down. - My 2 cents.

not to be an ass but for your case KANO, you have only been here for a few months, those of us that have been here for a year ++ know that Ken, John, and Bouncer are doing a hell of a job. Stick around for a while and see if your opinion changes. You refered to other boards having different rules, which is great but this forum is unique and it has different policies which are enforced reguarly. Again, I'm not trying to thrash but only trying to make a valid point.

I heard a slightly diff. version my principal told a guy when I was in highschool.

im not saying anything about the SG mods, infact far from it.

look at the threds tonight, i see atleast 2 fights going on, whats the point in it.

i ask the mods if we can add another forum called speakers corner, where we can talk about issues recent or past, but theses rule no flames no attacks and no thred trashing.

the gen-forum can be where people can vent or try and get there post count up some more, with wasted comments.
