There might be an option later down the road for you to buy a static IP for more $$ a month. Until then, it's DHCP.

It never changes anyway. I had DHCP the entire time I was with @home and my IP never changed in the 3-plus years I used it. And with AT&T, my IP has not changed since being assigned.

My friend has @home and his ip hasn't changed in like 4 years too. Sometimes they say dynamic just so they can reserve the right to change but never actually do it. Just what i have been told by cable friends.

With @home, the IPs were considered to be dynamic and actually were in a sense. They never changed the computer IPs but periodically changed the DNS IPs. If you were configured statically, you would lose connection until you entered the new DNS IPs.

Currently you cannot get a static IP. With AT&T, you are on "true" DHCP. Your IP most likely will not change, if your computer/modem are always on. If you turn them off and your lease expires, you will most likely lease a new IP.
